Your identity is one label — bill, acme, studio. Type it with no dot and it just resolves. One per person, a handful per business, and non-transferable — names can't be hoarded, flipped or squatted.

A verified member claims a label. The registry signs it into the Rift's own directory, secured end-to-end by its own DNSSEC trust anchor — a chain of trust we control, not one rented from the legacy system.
Rift-native names are answered by our own resolver over encrypted DNS (DoT & DoH). It's authoritative for registered names and nothing else — it will never invent an answer — and it quietly forwards the ordinary web on as usual.
A single lightweight app for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. It points single-word lookups at the Rift, installs our certificate authority and trust anchor, and — if you like — pulls everything through an encrypted tunnel. Uninstall it and you're back on the plain internet instantly.
Every name gets a real TLS certificate automatically. Mail flows member-to-member with no spoofing and no spam, filtered by MxGuard. And a built-in search covers the Rift alone — ranked by relevance and reputation, with no advertising.
